2009

Each year the Buffalo Niagara Partnership selects a recipient for the “Athena Award”.

The ATHENA™ Award Program is provided by ATHENA International to encourage the opening of leadership opportunities for women. Locally, the award program is dedicated to promoting and honoring the valuable contributions being made to advance the status of women in the Buffalo Niagara region.

New this year will also be the ATHENA Young Professional Award, which honors an individual who is an emerging leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession among other positive qualities. Joy is privileged to be included amongst the nine nominated young professionals for this prestigious award. Winners will be selected in November 2009.

2008
Joseph Siracuse Award
Joy Kuebler was extremely honored to be recognized in 2008 as the recipient of the Joseph Siracuse Award by the WNY Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The award, which was presented November 20 at the AIA Buffalo/WNY Design Awards Gala, is given to an individual who has demonstrated the highest, most consistent and supportive professional relationship with the architectural community.

To be recognized by an allied profession as contributing to the relationships we build alongside each other was a tremendous honor.

First Residential Green Roof in WNY

As a follow up on our 2007 green roof installation education event, we submitted the process and presentation method we used for the event for the category of “Communications” and was awarded the Merit Award.

We were thrilled to be honored for a mechanism of teaching not only other landscape architects and our allied professions, but also the general public about the benefits and installation process of green roofs.
