Position Summary and Overview:

The Landscape Designer at JKLA works under the leadership of the Sr. Landscape Architect and designs development of land areas for projects. Works closely with Sr. Landscape Architect, President, and other JKLA team members, existing clients and all vendors or outside service providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Confer with Sr. Landscape Architect and clients on overall program.
  • Execute deliverable production including project site analysis, precedent research, renderings and presentations.
  • Responsible for drafting Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Document drawings.
  • Use AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch Up applications.
  • Maintain client relationship and service client needs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully.

  • Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture a minimum
  • 5 - 6 years experience in landscape design
  • Strong grading and drainage skills
  • Plant knowledge for the North East region
  • Competent in software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Sketch Up
  • Strong writing skills
  • Current portfolio of design work required

No routine travel required.
